[Not in ThunderClan territory. On the border.]
Hawknight padded along the ThunderClan border, wondering why she was here. She should stop right now, turn around. The grass under her paws instead of pine needles, the flash of sun. It was wrong. And she didn't want to be here. When she finally stopped, she knew why. This clearing had once been stained red. A sick feeling rose in her throat, but, she was just as quick to shove it down. It didn't matter to her any more. It didn't matter that only two fox lengths across the border she'd killed. No. It didn't matter to her anymore at all. The sick feeling had been forced into a small stone in the bottom of her stomach, where she ignored it. She'd learned from it. She didn't need it anymore. Dragging herself out of her own thoughts, she told herself she as here for herb gathering, and maybe a bit of hunting. She wasn't good at it, but, her memories were sharp and she knew the crouches and stuff of the like.
She she still saw the blood pool, the life draining from eyes whenever she looked at ThunderClan's side of the border, but, she now, after regaining control looked at it coolly. For starters, the cat had deserved that. But she'd gone too far without realizing it, and that was why she was here now. And in a way, it was a good thing. SHe was now a medicine cat. And she was good at it. And she'd met with StarClan, and they'd... they'd known. Known that the guilt pit in her stomach was one of the few things the she-cat felt. Known that she had to shove down the loss of a life everyday to try to forget about it. And she'd saved many more lives then she'd taken. And that tom.... He should have ran. He knew he couldn't win. Right?
She'd let herself get carried away thinking about it again. Padding along the border, she found what she'd been looking for, just the slightest bit on ShadowClan's side of the border. It was a small clump of tansy, but, it had been the herb she was looking for. Carefully biting off the stems of the small plants, she carefully closed her jaws around them, not breaking a singled stem. It was hard to believe those careful teeth had killed. However, it was not hard to believe Hawknight had killed if you knew her.
