Silverdapple proudly padded around the camp, head and tail held high. She couldn't wait to announce to her Clanmates that she was expecting Oakstep's kits. I hoped I'd get kits and I'm getting them! She thought excitedly. "Any cat want to chat?" She called out, sitting by the fresh-kill pile.

Dapplestar lay stretched out on a small rock, letting her fur soak up the sun. It was a peaceful, happy time of year, and there was a rather relaxed atmosphere throughout the camp. At Silverdapple's call, her ear twitched slightly. "Something the matter Silverdapple?" she mewed, opening one eye lazily to gauge whether or not this was worth her getting up.

"A good thing!" Silverdapple mewed, trotting over to Dapplestar. She considered the leader to be her friend but she just wanted to tell some other cat- she was even willing to tell a cat of another Clan.. That's how excited Silverdapple was. "I'm expecting kits!"

Dapplestar's eyes flew wide open, and she scrambled to her paws. "That's fantastic!" she purred excitedly, yellow eyes bright and shining. "I'm happy for you," she mewed honestly, pressing her muzzle against the other she-cats. Her and Oakstep were sure to have exceptional kits and were definitely destined to be great parents.!

"Thank you! I can't wait~ I'm so excited!" Silverdapple meowed, kneading the ground in impatience. It was hard for her to grasp the concept of being a mother. "I'll be moving to the nursery soon. Oakstep's out getting me things for my new nest now!" Silverdapple's blue eyes suddenly lit even more, "The first kits to be born in SkyClan this Newleaf! My wish has come true!" She purred at the 'joke' although it was true. "So, how have you been, Dapplestar?"

"I'll miss our late night hunts, but its for a good reason," Dapplestar purred, tail waving back and forth in a friendly manner. "Obviously not as good as you," She mewed cheerily, happy for her friend. "But well enough." Truthfully, she had been a little lonely and anxious, but it was nothing to worry her happy friend with.

Skydapple mrrowed in laughter, "Yeah, same here, for the most part.. I made a fool of myself the last time!" The warrior shrugged, "But that doesn't matter. We can still go hunting after my kits are apprenticed, right?" She blinked, feeling guilty. "I'm sorry, Dapplestar.. Are you disappointed?" Skydapple poked at a rock with her paw, not wanting to look the leader in the eye.

"Of course!" Dapplestar mewed cheerfully as always. Her eyes widened at the other she-cat's words, and she gently nudged her. "No, no, of course not! Don't apologize!" she mewed quickly. "There's no reason for that. I'm very happy for you."

"Well, that's definitely good." Skydapple meowed, feeling relieved. "I didn't want you to be annoyed or anything." The warrior looked up, her good mood revived. She blinked gratefully at the leader and asked, "We could go hunting now if you'd like. I don't have anything better to do.. Well, you know, if you're not busy." Skydapple had always wondered what it would be like to be a leader. She wasn't an ambitious cat and figured it was too stressful. Not only that, but the thought that she would be the major decision-maker of SkyClan scared Skydapple a bit. Leader and medicine cat duties aren't for me- I wouldn't give up being a warrior for anything.

"Hardly," Dapplestar mewed with a snort. "I've been sitting on my tail almost all day. I'd love to get out, if you feel up to it." She stretched out her long body, soaking up the rays of sun. Really, the past few days had been rather peaceful, although she knew it wouldn't last. And even when she tried to relax, that thought would be in the back of her mind.
